Kit James is a Dublin-based atmospheric indie-folk songwriter originally from the west of Ireland. Known for his intricate guitar work and immersive live performances, his music echoes the melancholic spirit of John Martyn and Nick Drake while drawing modern influence from artists such as Ben Howard and Bon Iver. Through unusual open tunings, delicate fingerpicking, and poetic lyricism, Kit crafts songs that feel intimate and emotionally powerful.Emerging steadily through the Irish live circuit, Kit has opened the stage for acclaimed artists such as The Hothouse Flowers, Hudson Taylor, Declan O’Rourke, Paddy Casey and Hermitage Green. He has headlined shows at Monroe’s, The Spirit Store, The Workman’s Club and Mayo's famous Matt Molloy’s, while showcasing himself at major festivals including Electric Picnic and All Together Now.He was selected as "Homegrown Hero of the Week" on Today FM’s show with Dermot and Dave and later named Artist of the Week on Beat 102-103 by Niall Power.'RUN' is the first song released under the name Kit James and came out at the very end of 2025. Kit produced and recorded the song with Berklee-graduated recording engineer Quentin Thane Singer, formerly of The Village Studios California. Together they are recording new material, with the upcoming single 'Cold Cold' to be released May 2026. This will mark the second chapter of Kit's atmospheric and melancholic sound.

His debut single “Run” introduced the Kit James project in late 2025, with new material currently in development with Berklee-Graduated recording engineer Quentin Thane Singer.
